Passenger Boarding Bridge and Platform Screen Door for the Increase of Inbound

Approximately 28.69 million visitors visited Japan in 2017. With heightened tourist interest generated by the upcoming Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, setting a target of 40 million visitors in 2020, has been gearing up for infrastructure improvements to accommodate this major influx of tourists. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Transportation Equipment Engineering & Service Co., Ltd. (MHI-TES) offers products in this field such as a barrier-free passenger boarding bridge for more efficient passenger flow at air terminals. The government also recommends platform screen doors to be installed at any train station used by over 100,000 passengers per day and the introduction of these doors is spreading rapidly. MHI-TES has developed uniquely designed screen doors that are now commercially available.
