Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has provided various forms of support for the early resolution and stabilization of the Fukushima Daiichi Accident since the initial stage by leveraging the technological capabilities of our Research & Innovation Center and other departments in active cooperation with other companies in Japan and overseas, and by utilizing our experience in the nuclear field. This report introduces our activities so far from a technological perspective. In the future, plans call for fuel debris retrieval, which is the basis for achieving early resolution and stabilization and is the highest technical hurdle. We will also actively participate in the development and promotion of various forms of support technologies to contribute to early resolution and stabilization.
