In April 2017, we launched the 1.5-ton model of the PLATTER Auto laser-guided forklift truck series, and then the 2-ton and 3-ton models in October of that year. Compared to the conventional magnet-guided type that uses magnetic bars embedded in the floor, this product line has the following features: it eliminates floor work, a unique multi-unit operation control system Route Optimizer is newly adopted, layout change is easy, and so forth. Due to these features, we have had many inquiries, resulting in an increase in orders.
For storage warehouses, on the other hand, the adoption of RACK FORK Auto, which enables effective use of storage space due to its three-way and high-lift cargo handling capabilities, has been increasing. So far, we have proposed a magnet-guided system for RACK FORK Auto. In October 2018, however, in response to requests from our customers, we launched a laser-guided system, which is more advanced than the magnet-guided system and not available for similar equipment from other companies. By inheriting the features of the magnet-guided system and adding the features of the laser-guided system, a significant effect on customers' automation and labor saving was achieved.
Prior to the launch, we exhibited the new model at LOGIS-TECH TOKYO 2018 held in September 2018 to promote its automation and labor-saving capabilities.
