Power Generating Technologies for Prevention of Global Warming

Masatoshi Hisatome, Yutaka Nomiyama, Takayoshi Komuro, Yoshinori Ohki, Tokuji Matsuo

The world population is expected to increase to 8 billion people, which is about one and a half times that at present. People will want more goods and conveniences and consume more energy and power. This will increase the accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere and may cause global warming that brings about destruction of the earth's environment. To suppress the occurrence of such problems, we have to consider the use of other energy sources in addition to nucler energy, such as renewable energy. In this report, some typical power generating technologies with renewable energy are reviewed.
