(MHI) has developed a special heavy-duty forklift featuring a cabin that shields against radiation, for safer handling of contaminated rubble near the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO). Two units of the forklift are to be delivered to a joint venture formed by Taisei Corporation, Kajima Corporation and Shimizu Corporation that is handling the contaminated rubble at the site.]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[MHI to Market Three New Gasoline Engines]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[Tokyo, October 21, 2010 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) will begin marketing three new models in its "Mitsubishi Meiki Engine" lineup of single-cylinder multipurpose gasoline engines in January 2011. The engines to be added are the 2-stroke cycle "TLE24" and "TLE27," both realizing further weight reduction for the convenience of users, and the 4-stroke cycle "GB220," which has been compactly designed to enabler easier installation in agricultural equipment and other applications. All three new models can be conformed to existing Japanese, U.S. and EU emission regulations. To realize high-efficiency, low-fuel consumption engines, MHI has adopted its proprietary stratified scavenging system in the 2-stroke cycle models and a pent-roof shaped combustion chamber for the new 4-stroke model.]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[MHI Begins Mass Production of Forklift Trucks in Dalian, China]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[Tokyo, December 4, 2009 - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has completed the construction of a new forklift truck production plant in Dalian, China, and launched mass production. Initially the new plant will manufacture the company's newest model forklift trucks with handling capacities between 1 and 3 tons and supply them in China, which has now grown into the world's largest market for engine-powered forklift trucks. MHI also aims for the new facility to function in the future as a forklift truck supply base to the markets of newly emerging countries. With the addition of the new plant in China to existing bases in Japan, the U.S. and Europe, MHI has now completed a "tetrapolar" (4-pole), globally optimized production/ procurement structure. Celebrating the event, a ceremony took place today on site.]]></description>

Domestic marketing of the new "GRENDiA EX Hybrid" models began today. By integrating a lithium-ion secondary battery developed in-house and high-efficiency motors with small-size, low-exhaust- emission diesel engines that comply with new emission regulations, the company has realized outstanding environment-friendly, fuel-efficient performance: approximately 39% greater fuel efficiency than the standard internal-combustion powered trucks. Initially the GRENDiA EX Hybrid will be available only in the domestic market.]]></description>

(MHI) has decided to build a commercial production verification plant in Nagasaki Prefecture and launch its operation by autumn 2010 in a move toward the company's full-scale entry into the lithium-ion secondary battery market. The new plant, to be built within the company's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works, will have a production capacity of 66 MWh (megawatt hours) of batteries a year, which is equivalent to 400,000 medium-size cells. The batteries were developed in a 20-year-long joint research and development project with Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc.]]></description>

With the addition of the new Thai plant, complementing production bases in Japan and the Netherlands, MHI brings to completion an optimum production and procurement system based on a tripolar global structure encompassing Japan, Europe and Asia.
