(MHI) has changed the name of its subsidiary in Almere, the Netherlands, which handles its turbocharger and engine businesses in Europe from the previous "MHI Equipment Europe B.V." to "Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V." In tandem with the changeover, the renamed company will now further accelerate activities to expand its business not only in the European market, where demand is robust, but also in newly emerging markets such as Africa. ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[MHI Ships 13 Diesel Engine Power Generators to Myanmar]]></title>

(MHI) has shipped 13 sets of power generation systems operated by diesel engine to the Yangon City Electricity Supply Board (YESB) of Myanmar. The generators are being provided as part of emergency grant aid from the Japanese government in response to Myanmar's current power crisis. The event marks the first large-scale aid of its kind provided by Japan to Myanmar since the establishment of a civil administration in that country in 2011. All 13 units will be installed at the Thar Kay Ta Thermal Power Plant in Yangon, the country's largest city. The 13 generators collectively have a power generation capacity of approx. 13,000 kilowatts (kW).]]></description>

Dubbed the "VOLTANK* ML500i," the unit is easy to transport and to install and can be used with electrical equipment having maximum output up to 500 watt (W); in the case of a laptop computer, it enables approximately 15 hours of usage. (MHI) and Obayashi Corporation have jointly developed a "radiation-shielded seat" that suppresses radiation exposures of industrial vehicle operators working in radiation-contaminated areas. The seat incorporates body armor-like radiation shielding developed by combining MHI's radiation shielding technology based on development and production of special vehicles, and Obayashi's decontamination experience, with a target of suppressing radiation exposure of operators by 50%. MHI will begin marketing the seat in mid-December as an easy-to-use tool to reduce radiation exposure risk of operators engaged in work such as decontamination, debris removal and waste transportation using hydraulic excavators and other industrial vehicles.]]></description>

(MHI) has completed the development and commenced marketing of the "MEGANINJA*1," a transportable power generation system driven by gas engine and configured like a container. The generator features its capability to begin power generation within 24 hours after its arrival at the installation site. Based on the product concept of "quick transport, quick installation and quick generation," the MEGANINJA adopts an easily transportable container configuration and uses connector units for wiring and fuel piping connections, which enables significant simplification of work needing to be performed at the installation site. MHI looks to develop a wide market for the MEGANINJA, both domestically and globally, primarily in response to demand for distributed generation capability especially in the emerging economies, where power shortages remain common in some regions and for emergency power generators.]]></description>

Under the restructuring plan, the manufacture of small- and medium-sized forklift trucks currently undertaken at the General Machinery & Special Vehicles Sagamihara Machinery Works in Kanagawa, Japan, will be terminated. Production of small-sized forklift trucks for exportation and medium-sized model will be transferred to the company's overseas manufacturing bases. To meet the needs of small-sized models in the domestic market, the company will enter discussions on consigning production to Nippon Yusoki Co., Ltd. (Nichiyu), with which MHI has capital ties. Through these initiatives, MHI aims to evade currency risks and realize a globally optimized production structure in a quest to enhance its revenue base. ]]></description>
