Features of MHI Medical Equipment
Technology: Adoption of C band accelerating tube first in the world
MHI has been developing and manufacturing most advanced accelerator systems in collaboration with governmental and universities' research institutions.
This radiotherapy machine is equipped with a compact and light weight C band accelerating tube we have developed based on those accumulated technical resources. It achieves high irradiation accuracy with a downsized irradiation head.
The C band accelerating tube is a standing wave accelerating tube that uses a frequency twice that of an S band accelerating tube commonly used in the medical industry today. The new accelerating tube is an ultra compact and light weight unit of 30 cm in length and 10 kg in weight. Nevertheless, it provides a large power up to 6 MeV. In addition, for the joint of the microwave waveguide system, our newly developed rotary joint with improved transmission efficiency is adopted.

Design: Fast, safe, and accurate high precision medical treatment! Reduced burden to patients!
Our radiotherapy machine adopts a ring gantry structure that smoothly and gently integrates into the floor. The patient on the couch does not have to move. Instead, the gantry rotates and swings to achieve high accuracy irradiation without imposing burden to the patient.
Any areas that may contact the patient's body are covered by soft cushion materials and an automatic stop function is provided for improved safety.
This product was given the Good Design Award from Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization in 2008.

Structure: Radiotherapy Machine MHI-TM2000
- High rigid ring gantry
The innovative ring design created by reviewing the conventional structure has improved the rigidity of the structure and the irradiation accuracy.
To minimize the patient's movement after positioning, a unique gantry rotation mechanism has been developed. - High rigid 5-axis couch
The adoption of a highly rigid structure offers a positioning accuracy equivalent to precision machines. - Ultra compact and light weight accelerating tube (X ray generator)
- Gimbal mechanism (Swing function)
This constantly adjusts the irradiation point to the isocenter. The accuracy for isocenter (irradiation center) positioning is maintained easily (±0.1 mm). - Two pairs of Kv imaging systems
Front and side images can be acquired with less effort for patient positioning.
Corn beam CT images can be viewed in 1 minute after start of image capturing. This contributes to accurate and quick patient positioning.
The affected area can be monitored even during treatment. - Portal imager (EPID)
Images during treatment can be stored. Along with the monitoring function, this contributes to safety in treatment. - Multileaf collimator (MLC)
This facilitates optimized irradiation to the shape of the affected area.
