Natural movement
"wakamaru" can see and avoid walls and obstacles in its course using ultrasonic and infrared sensors. It may be configured to stop at the occurrence of any contact with the bumpers on its shoulders and hands. During operation, the force of movement of the arms and head are carefully monitored. If these come into contact with a person or object, such movement will be controlled relative to the person or object. Furthermore, if anything gets pinched in the sides, there is a release switch to stop the movement of the arms. There is also a satchel or a bag switch on its back to stop any movement if it opens up.
