Design Topics

Design topics to realize both high performance and high reliability.

HP-IP Combined Frame

The combination of HP and IP turbines allows for the development of a more compact turbine. As opposed to HP-IP separate turbines, HP-IP combined turbines are
  • More Economical (Compact design)
  • Easier to Operate (Simple rotor system)
  • Less Costly to Maintain (Smaller number of components)

Highly Reliable Control Stage (Triple-Pin Blade)

For large-capacity steam turbine control stages, superior strength Triple-Pin Blades, which are machine-manufactured from a metal block with electrical discharge machining, are applied.

IP Rotor Cooling

The rotor surface around the IP inlet is cooled by the control stage exit steam. By applying this technology, we can minimize IP rotor deterioration under high-temperature steam. Additionally, HP dummy leak steam is effectively mixed with IP steam.

We apply high-efficiency reaction blading to turbines that have twisted and bowed profiles. The high-efficiency, full 3-D design reaction blades with twisted and bowed profiles have been applide to many turbines since 1991.
