Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
The solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is operated at the temperature of 900 to 1,000 degree-C using natural gas, oil or coal as the fuel. (Oil and coal are gasified for the fuel.)
The SOFC, combined with a gas turbine, can attain a high efficiency of 55% (coal) to 65% (natural gas).
