Overview

A hypersonic flying object is aerodynamically heated to a very high temperature when it reenters into the atmosphere from the space. At the same time, nitrogen and oxygen molecules surrounding it are ionized or dissociated to convert into a plasma state. This facility can simulate such aerodynamic heating and a high Mach number state at the re-entry by generating a plasmatic airflow.

Features

  • This facility can simulate a high enthalpy airflow.
  • This facility can perform tests in a hypersonic region.
  • High-temperate heating simulation for a long time can be achieved.
  • This facility can test heat-resistant materials.
