Overview
![]() |
A hypersonic flying object is aerodynamically heated to a very high temperature when it reenters into the atmosphere from the space. At the same time, nitrogen and oxygen molecules surrounding it are ionized or dissociated to convert into a plasma state. This facility can simulate such aerodynamic heating and a high Mach number state at the re-entry by generating a plasmatic airflow.
