Combined cycle power plant for verification test

A combined cycle power plant was built on site at Takasago Machinery Works. Here at this plant, an "M501G" gas turbine started operation in June, 1997. This "M501G" is of large capacity and high efficiency operating at the world-highest inlet gas temperature of 1,500°C. By actually installing one of these state-of-the-art units and operating the plant on our own site, we can demonstrate our outstanding technologies designed to meet global demands for higher inlet gas temperature, far more efficiency and lower NOx emission levels and thoroughly verify the performance and reliability of our combined cycle power plant operating at high efficiency but with less pollution. Through long-term operation of a real combined cycle power plant with MHI's M501G gas turbine, we continue verification of our own products. At the same time, by this verification operation, we promote development of our "H-Series" gas turbine equipped with a steam-cooling system for blades and vanes designed for the next epoch - aiming at a more advanced power generation plant in order to utilize limited energy in a more effective manner and contribute to the protection and preservation of the Earth's environment and ecology.
