Combustion System

One of the 501G/701G's combustors can be seen from the turbine end. Steam is introduced to the double-walled MTFIN passage in order to maintain the combustor wall temperature within the allowable limit.

Takasago 330 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant First 501G

On April 7,1997,the first 501G gas turbine achieved full-load operation at MHI's Takasago Combined Cycle Power Plant. The plant features a multi-shaft design with a rated 330 MW base load operating on LNG fuel. A natural circulation heat recovery steam generator operates at triple pressure without reheating, supplying steam to a steam turbine featuring a fully air-cooled steam condenser and dry cooling tower.
Through its application at the Takasago plant, the 60 Hz 3600 rpm model 501G will demostrate the technological features that will also be included in the scaled-up 50 Hz 3000 rpm model 701G.
