Electronic Road Pricing System in Singapore

The Electronic Road Pricing System in Singapore is one of the most successful urban road pricing systems in the world. This fully automated system replaced the Area Licensing Scheme or sticker-based manual road pricing in 1998 in order to realize fair, convenient and reliable traffic demand management measures. Since its inception of operation, the system has been operating and upgraded continuously and the system carries a critical part of total transport network in Singapore.
