Conquering the water environment
Currently along with the increased focus on environmental issues and energy efficiency, the water pressure system is being reviewed. At Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. our driver technology that uses water pressure has overcome the traditional problems, allowing us to offer an environmentally friendly product. We are investigating and promoting the adoption of water pressure systems for the various equipment that traditionally used hydraulic systems.
Also we can provide a Water pressure pump fully lubricated by water (21MPa) and a servo valve.

Anti-freeze technology and anti-corrosion technology
Q Water freezes at 0°C and lower, losing its fluidity. Also there is the problem that it is corrosive to metals.

  • Inclusion of an ice scraper function for exposed operating areas
  • Use of environmentally sound antifreeze and anti-corrosion solutions
    (propylene glycol antifreeze solution)
Propylene glycol:
Propylene glycol is know to have no poisonous effect on humans or mammals generally when breathed in as a saturated vapor and is also known for not affecting the skin or eyes.

Filtration technology
Q Water undergoes photosynthesis to produce bacteria which then internally blocks up the water pressure machine.

To prevent photosynthesis occurring all external light sources obstructed.

Materials technology
Q Water does not have lubricating properties and as such it is easy for the water to undergo a baking phenomenon in the sliding areas, axle bearing areas etcetera within the water pressure device.

(For the controller valve spool, hard chrome plating and for the pump piston, silicon nitride ceramics)

Seals technology
Q Water does not have viscosity. (calm fluids: water;1mm2/s in comparison to oils; 50mm2/s)j Maximum amount of leakage from internal gaps in water pressure devices is 50 times that of oil pressure and highly inefficient.

Water hammer prevention technology
Q When you turn off running water, shock pressure arises easily. (1.5 times that of oil pressure) Water pressure valve switch over time controller.

Incorporation of special valve.
(Use of a valve which is special because of the proportional relationship between the degree that the valve is opened and the electric signals (electric current / voltage) that controls the value)
