Delivery of No. 3 Power Plant to Chile's Electrica Guacolda S.A. is Completed

On July 30, 2009, MHI completed delivery of the No. 3 power plant to Empresa Electrica Guacolda S.A., an electricity provider in Chile.
The plant is a 150 MW coal and coal/oil coke-fired, full turnkey power generation facility. By completing construction in 42 days earlier than stipulated in the contract, MHI received high praise from the client. The facility will be environmentally friendly by providing Chile with its first desulfurization equipment and enlarged electrostatic precipitators.

This No.3 plant, combined with the existing No. 1 and No. 2 power plants supplied by MHI, will contribute to a stable supply of electricity for Chile's Interconnected Central Power System's northern area, which is expected to have higher demand for electricity in the future. Commissioning of the No. 4 power plant is starting on-site in the run-up to delivery next year.
