Chubu Electric Power Company Shin-Nagoya Thermal Power Station Group 8
starts commercial operation
Chubu Electric Power Company Shin-Nagoya Thermal Power Station Group 8 Unit 8-1 was properly delivered, and Group 8 started commercial operation altogether on October 1, 2008.
This power plant is a high efficiency gas turbine combined cycle plant comprised of four 400MW units, all using the latest technologies. Each unit takes one-on-one configuration with a 1500 degree(c) class M501G1 gas turbine, SRT-45 steam turbine, heat recovery steam generator, and electric generator (supplied by Mitsubishi Electric Company).
This project was a very fast 31.5 months from the start of civil engineering construction in August 2005 until initial delivery of unit 8-4, for a total 37.5 months until this final delivery. Design, procurement, construction, and trial operation all progressed smoothly and completed without accidents. This is a clean power generating facility with low NOx and CO2 generation, and is expected to operate as a main power plant of Chubu Electric Power Company.
