Central San Isidro II gas turbine combined cycle power station starts operating
for ENDESA in Chile
In Chile, the gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) plant of Central San Isidro II Power Station started operating on January 20, 2008 for Empresa Nacional De Electricidad S.A. (ENDESA). (The gas turbine equipment already started operating independently on March 31, 2007, and now the entire facility also started operating, including the steam turbine equipment)
Mitsubishi Corporation received the order for this plant, which is a gas and oil dual fired GTCC full turn key project. MHI was in charge of the M701F gas turbine, SRT48 steam turbine, heat recovery boiler, and peripheral plant facility. Mitsubishi Electric provided the generator.
The contract delivery date is February 29, 2008, with operation starting 40 days earlier. This will contribute to resolving summertime electricity shortages, so it is receiving great attention in Chile.
A long term after-service agreement (LTSA) was also concluded with ENDESA, making a contribution to stable supply of electric power.
