Order is received for construction work to rehabilitate the No. 1 - 4 boilers
at SEC’s Qurayyah power plant in Saudi Arabia

MHI has received an order from the Saudi Electricity Company for construction work to rehabilitate the No. 1 - 4 boilers at its Qurayyah Power Plant (625MW x 4 units) via a full-turnkey contract. The power plant was supplied by MHI in 1989 (first phase construction) and 1992 (second phase construction). By means of the current round of rehabilitation construction the deteriorated boiler pressure parts and the burner circumference will be renewed, the boiler’s reliability will be increased, and environmental measures will be implemented as well.

On-site construction will begin in September of next year, and will extend through May 2011 for the final unit. This order resulted from an accurate determination of the customer’s needs by our service engineer, who has been permanently stationed on-site since September 2005, and the thorough evaluation given to the technical reliability of MHI as an original manufacturer. Hereafter, MHI is aiming to expand orders of warranty service throughout the Middle Eastern region, including Saudi Arabia to which our company has delivered a great deal of equipment, by means of a customer-based structure.
