Over 30 million horsepower of UE diesel engine is produced
Total historical production of the Mitsubishi UE model diesel engine surpassed 30 million horsepower in September 2007.
On November 12, daily users of UE engines such as ship owners, shipbuilders, licensees, and suppliers were invited to an event celebrating this achievement.
The UE model engine is the only low speed diesel engine developed in Japan. It reached 30 million horsepower by production of a total 3,721 engines since the first engine was built in 1955.
The UE engine is making great progress as a global brand, adding new licensee partners in countries such as Vietnam and China. At the same time, MHI is aiming at expanding its market share by development and production of new types such as electronic control engines.
