-- set to become CDM project --
MHI has received a full-turnkey order from Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited (KenGen) to build a 35 MW geothermal power generation plant, the third unit at the company's Olkaria II geothermal power station. The new construction initiative is expected to become Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project, and the new plant is slated to go on-stream in the end of December 2009.
The Olkaria II power station is located approximately 100 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, the nation's capital. The plant on order will consist of a steam turbine, condenser, generator and peripheral equipment. MHI will be responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of a steam turbine, condenser, peripheral equipment and civil work.
