On January 1, a grand ceremony was held at the site of the Beijing No.3 Thermal Power Plant (390MW) to commemorate the start of its operations. The ceremony was well attended by more than 300 people, including our client and other people involved in the plant. The power plant is MHI's first combined-cycle power plant in China, and MHI took charge of delivering one M701F gas turbine, one steam turbine, as well as peripheral auxiliaries. Under pressure from the demand for electricity in Beijing City, an early start to operations had been eagerly anticipated. MHI provided positive support for the onsite construction mandated by our client, and operations started as scheduled.
