On September 2, a purification ceremony and start-up ceremony were held for the MACH-30G gas engine power plant at Mitsubishi Paper’s Takasago Mill. The ceremonies were well attended, including by representatives from Kanden Gas and Cogeneration (Kanden GASCO) and from Mitsubishi Paper.
The power plant is comprised of four MHI MACH-30G gas engines, which were constructed by Kanden GASCO at Mitsubishi Paper’s Takasago Mill. The plant is run as an Energy Service Company (ESCO), with generated electricity being used at Mitsubishi Paper, and the surplus electricity being sold to the power producer and supplier (PPS), Diamond Power Corporation.
Construction was completed without accident, and trial operations were run smoothly. Following the handover on September 30, MHI will continue to provide support for smooth operations of the plant.
