Completion of the 1000 kW wind turbine as Japan's first unit built with a Fisheries Agency grant

On March 25th, 2005, a 1000 kW wind turbine for the Hasaki Fisheries Cooperative was completed in the town of Hasaki, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
The wind turbine is a MWT-1000A turbine built by MHI and is the first such facility to be constructed as a Fisheries Agency grant-aid project.
The turbine is attracting attention as an attempt to harness the wind energy characteristic of a harbor region facing the open ocean. It will contribute to preserving the global environment and saving energy.
