Since the start of 2005, several power plants have been completed which incorporate MHI MACH-30G gas engine power plant.
On January 21, a ceremony was held to mark the completed installation of a gas engine cogeneration plant (16MACH-30G x 1 unit) for use by Shizuoka Gas Company as an energy service business, at a Tentok Paper Co., Ltd. plant.
On February 21, Higashida Co-Generation Corporation established by Nippon Steel Corporation, held a ceremony to mark the completion of a power generation facility at Nippon Steel Corporation's Yawata Works. This facility is the first ever in Japan to be entirely constructed by an independent power producer, from the installation of power transmission lines to the construction of the power generation facilities. MHI supplied six 18MACH-30G units (33 MW) for this facility.
On March 9, a ceremony was held to mark the completed installation of gas engine cogeneration equipment (18MACH-30G x 1 unit) at the Central Motor Wheel Co., Ltd. works for steel wheel production in Toyota city. This facility was planned by Toho Gas Co., Ltd., and installed as an energy business by Ene Vision Corporation.
On March 25, a ceremony was held to mark the completed installation of gas engine cogeneration equipment (16MACH-30G x 5 units) at the Toyota Motor Kyushu, Inc. The facility will be run as an ESCO (Energy Service Company) business by the KTF consortium, which includes The First Energy Service Company and Kyushu Electric Power Co., Ltd. , to supply electricity and steam to Toyota Motor Kyushu, Inc. MHI supplied gas engine power generation plants to the facility on a full turnkey basis.
The above MACH-30G gas engine power generation plants make a significant contribution to reducing energy costs and CO2 emissions, and enjoy a very high reputation. In the future, MHI intend to continue achieving customer satisfaction by providing a finely tuned service and pouring our resources into the stable operation of power generation facilities.
