MHI has completed consignment of the thermal plant simulator for the Okinawa Electric Power Company and the Hokkaido Electric Power Company.

MHI completed consignment of the Okinawa Electric Power Company Kin Thermal Power Station Simulator on 30 September last year and the Hokkaido Electric Power Company Takikawa Technical Center Thermal Power Training Simulator subsequently on 25 December.
The design concept of the MHI Thermal Plant Simulator is to accurately reproduce the static and dynamic characteristics of a plant.
The results will be widely used for training, control investigations and problem analysis.
Features of the simulators include being able to easily switch between multiple plant models and having CAI (Computer Aided Instruction) integrated into the simulators. Resultantly, training and the related technical information can be provided, allowing for effective upskilling.
In particular, at the Takikawa Technical Center, a panorama vision made up of eight interconnected 50-inch projectors, enabled multiple windows including the unit BTG, CAI screen and various other screens to be freely combined.
Up to now, MHI has supplied many thermal plant simulators. It has met all requests, by producing plant models for boilers, including drum boilers, supercritical constant pressure once-through boilers and supercritical sliding pressure once-through boilers, and for boiler fuels, including oil, gas, coal and all kinds of multi-fuels.
