MHI has received an order from one of China's three largest heavy electrical machinery groups, the Dongfang Electrical Corporation of China (Chengdu, Sichuan Province) for four BFPTs (Boiler Feed Pump Turbines). The BFPTs will be used at the Wangqu Thermal Power Plant (2 x 600 MW supercritical pressure coal-fired boilers, Changzhi, Shanxi Province) owned by Shanxi Lujin Wangqu Electric Power Generation Company (Shanxi Province).
This order is a direct result of how highly valued the technical capabilities of MHI's BFPTs are and their proven delivery record, as well as the competitive price.
At present, China is experiencing high levels of demand for electricity in line with its economic growth, and construction of power plants all around China is continuing at a frenzied pace. On the back of a consolidated order from China last year for gas turbines, we are continuing to receive orders for major components, such as boilers and steam turbines. We hope that we can use this order for BFPTs as a stepping-stone to increase sales in the future.
