Unit 8 (Final unit) begins commercial operation at Ghazlan II Power Plant in Saudi Arabia

On June 25, Unit 8 at Ghazlan Power Plant Phase II (rated output: 632 MW x 4 units) completed a 30-day continuous RTR (reliability test run) for Saudi Arabia Electricity Company (SEC) and was subsequently put into commercial operation.

With the completion of this RTR for Unit 8, all four units that we were under contract to deliver have begun commercial operation, and currently, all four units continue operation at full load throughout each day in response to the electrical power demand from intense heat that exceeds 45 degrees day after day, amounting to gross generation in excess of 2,650 MW of rated output.

Ghazlan Power Plant has now become the country's largest power plant, supplying electricity not only to the eastern region of Saudi Arabia but also to the capital city Riyadh.

With expiration of the warranty for the first unit, we finalized handover of Unit 5 to the customer on July 16. Meanwhile, the other units are still under warranty, and this final Unit 8 will similarly be transferred one year from now.
