Establishment of KU engine production line for fifty units annually

A system has been set up at MHI' Yokohama Dockyard & Machinery Works, which manufactures KU diesel and MACH-30G gas engines, capable of mass-producing fifty units annually.
The KU diesel engine is the company's best-selling product, commanding the nation's top share with the achievement of more than 270 units delivered, which boast high dependability and ample results of 120,000 hours of operating time per unit.
The MACH-30G gas engine was developed based on the KU30A diesel engine with which it shares 95% of the identical parts, and similar to the sales achievement of KU30A engines, it is expected to continue to enjoy a favorable market showing.
The company established this mass-production system with consideration for the interchangeability of parts between the KU diesel and MACH-30G gas engine, setting its aims on cost reduction and quick response to short-notice delivery time.
