Order for 110 MW thermal power plant burning petroleum coke from K.K. Frontier Energy Niigata

MHI has received an order for a 110 MW thermal power plant burning petroleum coke from K.K. Frontier Energy Niigata.
As a single-fuel plant for the combustion of petroleum coke, this plant is planning for compatibility of both environmental measures and the reduction of power generation costs using the company's combustion technology on Japan's largest magnitude.
With 45% investment from Nippon Steel Corporation, 35% from Nippon Oil Corporation, and 20% from Mitsubishi Corporation to Flontier Energy generated power will be supplied to Nippon Steel Corporation at a ratio of 65% and 35% to Nippon Oil Corporation upon completion of the new plant.
Commercial operation is scheduled to commence from July 2005.
