A world's first: autonomous underwater vehicle powered by fuel cell system successfully completes its first underwater cruise

MHI has been developing fuel cell power generating system with the Japan Marine Science and Technology Center (JAMSTEC), which is an autonomous underwater vehicle called "Urashima" that has successfully completed the world's first fuel cell powered
underwater cruise. On August 12th, the Urashima cruised under water in Suruga Bay at a depth of 300 m, powered by its fuel cell system for a distance of approximately 2.5 km.
