McGraw-Hill selects Ilijan power plant in the Philippines as a top world plant

The influential American electrical power business magazine, "Power" (published by McGraw-Hill) has announced that it has selected Ilijan combined-cycle power plant in the Philippines as a top world plant for the year 2002. Four MHI's M501G gas turbines (Inlet temperature: 1,500 degree-C) were delivered as the main machines of this plant and are the first turbines to be chosen for use in an overseas project. These turbines were put into commercial operation in May 2002 and since that time have recorded an operating ratio of 96 %, a very high level performance that has received high evaluations. Other projects include Mystic (4 turbines) and Fore River (2 turbines) in the US delivered for overseas projects that have also reached the stage of commercial operation and are attracting attention in the power industry.
