MACH Gas Engines Completed For N. S. ENERGY Sodegaura

In this May, MHI Yokohama Works observed a ceremony with the presence of Vice President Yagi of Nippon Steel Corporation to celebrate the completion of a gas engine plant.

Consisting of 10 sets of advanced high-efficiency clean gas engines, this power plant is destined for operation at N. S. Energy Sodegaura Works, which is enabled by partial deregulation of electricity market to serve as a power producer and supplier and sell electricity to electric power users.

Output = 5,750 kW x 10 sets = 57,500 kW

The entire system is automatically controlled to determine the number of engine sets in service from independent operation of one engine all the way to all-out operation of 10 engine sets running in parallel to best meet the actual load conditions. In addition, it is remote-monitored from MHI Yokohama Works Support Center.

By virtue of their high efficiency and high reliability, as many as 39 MACH sets have already been placed orders so far since 2001 when the first MACH set was put on the market, and 19 sets started commercial operation among them.
