Fuel Conversion Of Sumitomo Joint Electric Power Nyugawa Thermal Power Station No. 1 Unit Completed

Nyugawa Thermal Power Station No. 1 Unit

On March 24, 2003, No. 1 Plant for Sumitomo Joint Electric Power Nyugawa Thermal Power Station was delivered ceremoniously to the client upon successful completion of performance test.
The plant was originally operated based on an oil-fired 835t/h boiler. But this boiler has been replaced with a newly constructed coal-fired 815t/h boiler. In addition, the low-pressure stage of the existing turbine has been replaced with a new one, in order to reduce fuel cost and improve the power generating efficiency.
As a unit of Sumitomo Joint Electric Power Nyugawa Thermal Power Station, this plant, with a maximum rating of 250,000 kW, will have an important role to play in feeding power to Sumitomo-affiliated companies in Ehime Prefecture and Shikoku Electric Power.
