Gas turbines and steam turbines delivered for the Covert Generating Project, Michigan, U.S.A.


Gas turbine No.1 loading onto barge at MHI Takasago Machinery Works

MPS (Mitsubishi Power Systems, Inc.), a subsidiary of MHI, has recently completed delivery of three M501G gas turbines and three steam turbines for the Covert Generating Project located in Covert, Michigan, U.S.A. The Covert Project, which was developed by PG&E National Energy Group (PG&E NEG), consists of three power trains (i.e., one gas turbine generator, one heat recovery steam generator, and one steam turbine generator) and will produce a nominal output of 1,082 MW. Construction of the plant commenced in June 2002. Commercial operation of the plant is scheduled to commence in the summer of 2003.
