GTCC in the Gas & Power Torishima Energy Center

A gas turbine combined cycle power plant, which distributes 149.9MW to the grid of Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., was successfully handed over to Gas & Power Co., Ltd. on February 28, 2002, and began commercial operation from April 1, 2002.
With DSS (Day Start & Stop) operation taken into consideration, this power plant has been designed as an IPP (Independent Power Producer).
The facility comprises of one M501DA gas turbine, one steam turbine and one generator, which are connected through a single shaft construction, and one HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator). In addition to them, one gas expansion turbine is also installed to produce electricity, utilizing high-pressure natural gas.
For NOx emission control, a dry-low NOx combustor is applied to the gas turbine and a DeNOx unit is installed in the HRSG.
