Summary of EU-APWR Features
EU-APWR is the world largest class Generation Ⅲ reactors.
1,700MWe class output to European utilities with enhanced safety, reliability, and economy.
Reactor Coolant System & Safety System
Basic configuration of EU-APWR RCS is as same as RCS of current MHI PWR plants.
Typical 4 loop system but each main component design has been improved by advanced technology. And both mechanical and electrical safety system consists of 4 trains with Advanced Accumulator.
Main Components & Other System
Main components in RCS system have 60 years plant life.
Building & Layout Design
Containment Vessel of EU-APWR is consists of prestressed single primary containment and partially secondary containment.
Reactor building is designed to facilitate plant operation and maintenance, and to minimize personnel radiation exposure.
Construction & Operation
MHI has been developed advanced construction method thru 24 PWRs construction in Japan.
