Notice Regarding Share Buy Back at Market Price
(Share Buy Back Pursuant to Article 211.3.1.2 of the Commercial Code)
Tokyo, March 29, 2005 -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (the Company) hereby gives the notice that, with regard to the share buy back pursuant to Article 211.3.1.2 of the Commercial Code, the Company has purchased its own shares as follows:.

1. Purchase period: From February 24, 2005 to March 28, 2005
2. Number of share purchased: 1,900,000 shares
3. Total purchase amount: 527,200,000 yen
4. Purchase method: Shares were purchased on the Tokyo Stock Exchange

1.Authorization given at the meeting of the board of directors held on July 30, 2004
  a. Type of shares to be purchased: Shares of the Company's common stock
  b. Total number of shares to be purchased:     No more than 10 million shares
  c. Total amount of purchase: No more than 3 billion yen
  d. Schedule of the share buy back: From July 30, 2004 to the date of the meeting of the board of directors to decide the non-consolidated financial results of the Company for fiscal year 2004.

2.Total number of share purchased since the above authorization date (July 30, 2004)
  a. Total number of shares purchased:     8,120,000 shares
  b. Total purchase amount: 2,289,159,000 yen
