Outline

The Machinery & Steel Structures Headquarters was newly started in May 2006 at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), upon integrating the Machinery Headquarters that provides the most advanced technologies and conducts business to satisfy the needs of the times and of society and the Steel Structures & Construction Headquarters that provides infrastructure such as bridges, river conservation works and energy storage facilities. In October 2009, the headquarters inaugurated 3 divisions to control each products, namely, "Environmental & Chemical Plant Division", "Transportation Systems & Advanced Technology Division", and "Industrial Machinery Business, Technology & Solutions Division". Moreover in April 2010, the Headquarters was integrated with the Paper & Printing Machinery Division in order to give full play of synthesis of MHI's machinery technologies. A new "Engineering Headquarters" that handles comprehensively all company EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) operations is established in January 2012 and "Environmental & Chemical Plant Division" has been transferred to the "Engineering Headquarters." In April 2012, Transportation Systems & Advanced Technolgy Division changed its name to "Transportation Systems Division", and Industrial Machinery Business, Technology & Solutions Division was abolished.

We at the Machinery & Steel Infrastructure Systems Headquarters intend to help build a society that can continuously develop, by utilizing our experience and the technologies we have cultivated and accumulated in global environmental conservation, industrial facilities supporting the economy, and renovation of the traffic and physical distribution system that connects people and materials, thus fulfilling the social responsibilities of MHI.
