| 1971 | Completed second phase construction, and the entire plant became operational on April 1, 1971.(The Maruko Plant, including automobile division, was transferred to the control of Tokyo Motor Vehicle Works of MMC.) |
| 1973 | The Oi Plant was closed and consolidated with the Sagamihara Plant, which resulted in the Sagamihara Machinery Works of MHI. |
| 1988 | MHI Forklift America, Inc. (MFA) was established in Houston, Texas for local forklift truck production. |
| 1989 | Chitose Plant was established in Chitose City as a service terminal for vehicles and related machinery for the Hokkaido area. |
| 1992 | Established three joint venture companies with Caterpillar Inc., in U.S.A., the Netherlands and Singapore, and made them start local forklift truck production. |
| 1993 | MHI-Pornchai established in Bangkok, Thailand, starts production of construction machinery. |
| 1994 | MHIS in Singapore has started assembling diesel engine generating equipment. |
| 1995 | Started total turbocharger production from processing to assembly at MEE, the Netherlands. |
