Takasago Machinery Works: A production base for energy plants

Takasago Machinery Works distinguishes itself by its status as the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) plant dedicated to the manufacture of large rotating machines. Products produced here at Takasago-including gas turbines and steam turbines for thermal and nuclear power plants, water turbines, and pumps that underpin the power infrastructure that makes daily life and industry possible-are well regarded not only in Japan, but also around the world. Takasago Machinery Works continues to make progress in its goal of enriching society through advanced technology.

From Takasago to the world: A production base for energy plants

Takasago Machinery Works' Headquarters Plant is located about 50 kilometers to the west of Kobe on a site of approximately 870,000 square meters. Takasago Research & Development Center occupies about 140,000 square meters on the same site, bringing the total site area to some 1 million square meters. The plant is laid out in a "T" shape and includes a port to accommodate the ships that transport its products to destinations worldwide.

A facility serving the power generation equipment market in the United States

Orlando Service Center is a Takasago Machinery Works gas turbine service facility that was opened at Mitsubishi Power Systems, Inc., (an MHI U.S. group company established in April 2001) to develop an integrated range of businesses in the U.S. power generation equipment market, including sales operations, project execution, and service. The center, which includes a gas turbine high-temperature part repair plant, plant remote monitoring center, and answer center, provides high-quality customer services such as 24-hour monitoring of delivered equipment and field service for gas and steam turbines.

A joint venture with a partner involved in the transfer of technology to China

This is a joint venture in Guangzhou (Nansha District), China with Dongfang Elecric Co., Ltd., MHI's partner in technology transfer to China. Since fall 2005, it has been fully engaged in the manufacture and repair of high-temperature parts (rotating and stationary blades and burners) for the 701 Gas Turbine. As an advanced center for business in China, the company provides high-quality, reliable services through the transfer of advanced technology in close collaboration with Chinese customers.

A printed circuit board plant located in the town of Iwanai, Hokkaido

Iwanai Plant began operations as a branch plant of Takasago Machinery Works in April 2000 in an industrial park in the town of Iwanai in Iwanai-gun, Hokkaido. A new facility in Hokkaido for manufacturing MHI's in-house printed circuit boards, Iwanai Plant is engaged in the development and manufacture of printed circuit boards by taking advantage of advanced technologies and equipment.

The plant manufactures printed circuit boards that require high levels of quality and reliability using high-tech electronic machinery and equipment such as state-of-the-art electronic component mounting systems, three-dimensional shape recognition systems that utilize laser light, and a variety of instrumentation and testing systems.
