Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) extends its deepest sympathies to the many victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami that caused incalculable loss of lives and property throughout eastern Japan on March 11. We sincerely pray for the safety of all those affected by the disaster and for recovery of all regions as quickly as possible.

Current Operating Status of Production Facilities

Production facilities are operating normally. Minor difficulty is being experienced in the procurement of some parts and other supplies for some products, but every effort is being made to obtain the items needed, and we project that impact on production will be minimal.

Sagamihara Machinery Works was established in Shibaura, Tokyo in 1920 and was relocated from Maruko and Oimachi, Tokyo to Sagamihara in 1970.
The General Machinery & Special Vehicles located in Sagamihara Machinery Works comprises five divisions responsible for engine, turbochargers, power train, industrial vehicles and special vehicles respectively. Each of these divisions offers products that meet a wide variety of needs. The divisions have integrated organizations which include research and development, marketing and service structure and enable to provide highly reliable products that satisfy customers' needs in a timely manner.
